Swim Life

As the Central Florida heat continues to rise and families practice social distancing from the safety of their homes, backyard pools have become a popular distraction and recreation space for children of all ages. As a result, Kelly Whittemore, founder of the award-winning, fully-accredited Swim Life program says drowning accidents have also been on the rise. But, she offers a simple and effective solution: survival swimming lessons.

“We believe water-safety instruction is an essential service, so we have continued to offer lessons to ensure children can enjoy all bodies of water with the knowledge and skills to swim safely and with confidence,” Kelly says. “We have also put extensive safety measures into place to protect our students and staff from virus transmission.”

That includes clear face shields for instructors, masks for all staff, and temperature checks for everyone.

Swim Life’s state-of-the-art pool disinfection and filtration systems and its year-round schedule offer students the opportunity to practice their swimming skills in a safe, weather-proof environment.

“Our convenient schedule and indoor facility allow us to hold lessons, rain or shine,” Kelly says. “And our students can take advantage of our year-round classes to learn new skills, take refresher lessons, and maintain skills over the cooler months when practicing at home may not be an option.”
