Flamenco del Sol is scheduled to bring an encore of its dance-infused version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to Central Florida audiences in June.

The dance company, which has a studio in Oviedo, will present Romeo y Julieta at Trinity Preparatory School’s theater in Winter Park and at the Athens Theatre in DeLand. Flamenco del Sol debuted this lavish production in February at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, starring husband-and-wife Alonso Ivan Millar and Tammy Weber de Millar of Sanford as the star-crossed lovers from warring families. Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez, who is from Madrid, conceptualized, choreographed, and served as artistic director for Romeo y Julieta. An internationally acclaimed choreographer and performer, Carlos is artistic director of the Spain’s Got Talent! TV show and co-creator of Nuevo Ballet Español.

Performances of Romeo y Julieta will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at Trinity Preparatory School and at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, at the Athens Theatre. Ticket prices are $35 for preferred seating, $32 for standard seating, and $30 for seniors. A portion of the proceeds from each show will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
