The Pastel Society of Central Florida is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style this year with several exhibitions, including one in Casselberry.

The art group plans to exhibit its members’ work during the month of June in a show titled Red. Blue. Pastel? Yes! at the Casselberry Art House, 127 Quail Pond Circle. A free, meet-the-artists reception is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12. The artwork can also be viewed during regular Art House hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.
The Pastel Society of Central Florida, a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies, was organized in May 2010. The group typically meets in Leesburg and offers demonstrations, workshops, and plein-air painting events for its membership, which includes several artists from Seminole County.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in the traditional medium of pastels. In addition to the show in Casselberry, the society plans to have exhibits in Tavares and Leesburg later this year. To learn more about the group, visit PastelSocietyofCentralFlorida.com.
