Come Play! Casino Night fundraiser to support HOPE Helps

On Friday, March 10th, Leadership Seminole Class 26 will host a Casino Night fundraiser to support HOPE Helps, an Oviedo-based nonprofit working to prevent homelessness.

I’m part of Leadership Seminole, a program of aspiring community leaders who want to improve the quality of life for all in Seminole County.

The program has been an eye-opening, thought-provoking, and educational experience.Through monthly one-day sessions, we learn about how various aspects of our community work both independently and together. Each session focuses on a new topic such as government, arts and culture, healthcare, or economic development, among others. After each session, I’m empowered to make a difference in our community and proud to be a Seminole County resident. Luckily, the program includes working on a legacy project – a nonprofit our class selects to support and elevate throughout our program.

Right now, my Leadership Seminole class is working hard on fundraising for our nonprofit of choice  – HOPE Helps. If you haven’t heard of HOPE already, it’s an Oviedo-based nonprofit that is nothing short of amazing. It’s an essential stop for individuals and families in our area who are on the brink of homelessness.

What is Leadership Seminole doing to help?

There are immediate construction and furnishing needs for HOPE’s new facility. We are:

  • Building and installing furnishings in the Education Center, Resource Center/Food Pantry, offices and conference rooms

  • Building out the administration building

  • Beautifying the grounds and adding an irrigation system and a donor walkway.

While we’re doing our best fundraising and doing the labor ourselves, there is always need for more assistance.

How can you help?
