LMHS and UF grad Gloria Tavera is on the forefront of infectious disease research. In recent months, her years of hard work and dedication have been honored on both the national and international stage.
In January, Gloria was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in Healthcare for her work as a founding member and current president of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines.
Last week Friday, Gloria also received this year’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award from her alma mater, University of Florida – along with 27 other alum.
Gloria’s parents, Ben and Ruth, stood in for her to accept the award.
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years, and whose achievements positively reflect the Gator Nation. Criteria for the award include making a significant impact on their industry and having professional accomplishments at the state, national or international level.
