Mayor David Mealor received the Peach Torch at Lake Mary's Peace Run to promote international friendship and understanding.

Mayor David Mealor of Lake Mary received the peace torch from international and local runners this past Friday evening at Central Park. The runners began their trek from the corner of Lake Mary Boulevard and Rinehart Road and then crossed Fourth Street in downtown Lake Mary, meeting Mayor Mealor and others at the Sri Chinmoy Peace Tree at the clock tower at City Hall. The guests then proceeded to E. Lakeview Avenue where a ceremony promoting international friendship and understanding took place.

Mayor Mealor was joined by SCPS Board members Tina Calderone and Abby Sanchez, event coordinator Cynthia Santiva Morrison, Lake Mary Life Publisher Sheila Kramer, and City Commissioner Joanne Lucarelli who was later honored at the ceremony.
