It’s pretty clear we enjoy writing about life in Lake Mary, but we also love profiling the residents who are living the Lake Mary life in a unique or interesting way. And our new blog series Livin' the Lake Mary Life does just that. Join us as we introduce you to the people that make this city truly extraordinary.
During my nine years as a staff writer for Lake Mary Life magazine, I have been fortunate to meet hundreds of remarkable residents that serve as the heart and soul of our quaint community. From mayors to mathematicians and everything in between, there’s no doubt this city is rich with countless stories just waiting to be uncovered – and that’s what I aim to do.
So, without further ado, please let me introduce you to Lauren Krebs.
The first time I met Lauren I was intrigued to learn she was the incoming president of The Rotary Club of Lake Mary. Motivated by her passion for philanthropy and the mission of Rotary International, Lauren joined the organization in 2011 and the rest, as they say, is history.
Who is Lauren Krebs?
Lauren, 53, grew up on Long Island, NY in a family that was passionate about community service. A graduate of the University of South Florida, she currently serves as a recruiting manager for Radiology Partners and has more than 15 years of experience in the medical industry. She loves traveling, her two cats and supporting women’s issues. Most people don’t know Lauren is also an eight-year breast cancer survivor and a professional makeup artist who has been honing her craft since she was 13 years old.
How is Lauren living the Lake Mary life?
As just the fourth female president of The Rotary Club of Lake Mary, Lauren is making an impact not only in Seminole County, but also in small villages around the world as she and all Rotarians work to support the organization’s mission to eradicate polio. Locally, Lauren and the Lake Mary club support the students and teachers at Greenwood Lakes Middle School and Lake Mary High School by stocking their food pantries and providing classroom supplies. The club’s commitment to education is also evident in its annual college scholarship programs.
Where can you find Lauren living the Lake Mary life?
Leading weekly Rotary meetings at Heathrow Country Club, of course! And when she’s not there you can find her supporting the club’s annual fundraising efforts including Taste of Lake Mary, Champions Ride for Charities, and the Chompin’ Stompin’ Bar-B-Que. You can also find Lauren cycling on Lake Mary’s famous trails or sweating it out at One EW Fitness.

“The community,” she says. “I love living here. The people make this city truly amazing and I’ve been lucky to know some of the best.”
