Seminole County Women Artists Take the Show

Several women artists from Seminole County are stepping into the spotlight this summer, with shows in downtown Orlando and Maitland.

Check out the work of these talented ladies at the following exhibits:

     -- Altamonte Springs artist Lillian Verkins has an exhibit of her contemporary paintings on display through September 30 at the Orlando Public Library, at 101 East Central Boulevard. 


The solo show, titled "Inspirations from Land and Skies," features paintings from her Landscapes and Spacespaces series. Lillian's motion-filled artwork focuses on the natural beauty of the universe. To learn more about her acrylic and mixed-medium work, visit


    --  Eight female artists -- several of whom live in Seminole County -- have a group show at the Sawmill Center IEW Galleries at 711 North Orlando Avenue. The show runs until mid-October.


Featured artists are Bonnie Sprung of Altamonte Springs, who curated this diverse, colorful show; Elizabeth St. Hilaire, Allison Constantino, Lynn Whipple, Mindy Z. Colton, Lisa Ikegami, Diane Martens, and Linda Amundsen.
