Family owned and operated,Park Jewelers in Lake Mary is built on a tradition of customer service and quality work, and now that tradition is set to continue for another generation, at least.

In an effort to enhance the level of service provided to his clients, Tony Tsirigotis recently added another skilled craftsman to his team: his son Demetre, who recently completed the Graduate Gemologist diploma program at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York City. The GIA Graduate Gemologist is the most coveted credential in the industry, and those who achieve the designation have a comprehensive knowledge of diamonds and colored stones. They also have the technical expertise and practical skills needed to evaluate gemstones by the 4Cs (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight), the International Diamond Grading System, and the Colored Stone Grading System.

“I’m so proud of Demetre,” says Tony. “He put in a lot of hard work to complete his coursework and graduate from the program. It’s uplifting for me when I have a question about a diamond and he answers it for me. He’s really a gifted identifier of colored stones and diamonds, which is a great asset to have.”

Besides the added value of having a Graduate Gemologist on staff, Tony also relishes working side by side with his son. His is truly a family business, and Tony recognizes the value in that. His wife, Sylvie, complements the team with her talent for creating custom pieces for clients. She also loves getting to know the store’s clients, and that familiarity helps her pick the perfect pieces for whatever their needs may be.

The experienced and dedicated staff at Park Jewelers understands the importance of gaining a client’s trust, especially when it comes to the personal nature of purchasing jewelry. Only the highest level of professionalism and integrity are acceptable in a business where relationship building is key to customer satisfaction.

“If it wasn’t for the loyalty of our clients, we wouldn’t be in business,” says Tony. “Buying jewelry represents a significant purchase, both financially and emotionally, so we always strive to raise the bar when it comes to satisfying our customers. In this business, building relationships and communication mean everything. You can’t have a successful transaction without a client’s trust.”

Tony, who has been in the jewelry business for 33 years, understands that customers want, and need, to feel comfortable and confident when it comes to buying jewelry, and it’s his job to exceed his clients’ expectations in the areas of selection, value, and service. Some of the services he provides include in-house jewelry repair, diamond and gemstone replacement and upgrading, and custom design. Park Jewelers also specializes in jewelry and watch cleaning, refinishing and revitalization, watch battery replacement and repairs, appraisals and insurance estimates, and pearl restringing.

“We can handle any repair you may have, from a simple ring sizing or clasp replacement to completely resetting your diamond,” says Tony. “Matthew Willingham, our onsite master jeweler, handles jewelry repair and custom design with the highest level of craftsmanship and care. When our clients see the finished product, we want them to be not only satisfied but confident they made the right choice.”

The quest for that level of client satisfaction has driven Tony’s success for three decades, and he expects more of the same in the years ahead.

“I’ve been doing what I love for more than 30 years, and I also have the luxury of having my family, who are all very good at what they do, work alongside me,” admits Tony. “We all complement each other, which makes it easier for us to deliver the level of service and quality we want to our clients.”
