Oviedo’s new Breaking Barre studio is breaking the boutique fitness mold with its diverse, dance-inspired philosophy.
Celebrating its official grand opening this month, the locally-owned and operated Breaking Barre studio offers a dynamic menu of sessions designed to deliver the three components of a comprehensive fitness program: strength training, cardio, and restoration.
“At Breaking Barre, clients are never limited to a single workout style,” explains founder Laura Clark. “Our cardio sessions feature fun, upbeat music and include Dance Fitness and Tabata/Zen, while our strength sessions include Classic Barre, Express Barre, Ballet Barre, Mat Pilates, Pop Pilates, Barlates, and Adult Ballet. Each class, regardless of style, is designed to sculpt a lean, elongated dancer’s physique while burning fat, strengthening joints, improving bone density and balance, and increasing flexibility. And our sessions are designed for every fitness level. We always provide skill modifications and advanced options to accommodate every body and ability.”
Special events scheduled for 2020 include Sunday Morning Mimosas, Puppy Pilates, Salad in a Jar, and other fun themed fitness sessions. Breaking Barre sessions also incorporate a mindfulness component to encourage presence and relaxation.
“Each barre session includes a brief Shavasana to promote relaxation and our Tabata/Zen session incorporates 20 minutes of mindful meditation,” Laura says. “We believe caring for our emotional and mental health is just as important as our physical health.”
