Dr. Christopher K. Quinsey of Lake Mary, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who has been practicing medicine in the area for two decades, opened his own practice on Lake Mary Boulevard in 2011. Having his own medical office allows Dr. Quinsey to deliver the kind of care to women that he would want for his own family – personal service in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere where women feel at ease.

“That’s one of the advantages of having a solo practice,” Dr. Quinsey says. “I see all patients myself, whereas some practices depend heavily on nurse practitioners or physician assistants. I want my relationships with patients to be as comfortable as possible, with familiar faces here. They have to be comfortable.”

That comfort level is maintained with the competence and efficiency that comes from years of service as an OB/GYN, whether the patients are teenagers, expectant mothers, those in need of inpatient or outpatient gynecological surgeries, women struggling with abnormal bleeding issues, or those looking for solutions to infertility, experiencing signs of menopause, and everything in between.

Ultrasounds can be done right in Dr. Quinsey’s office, and most types of insurance are accepted.

Dr. Quinsey looks for opportunities to educate his patients on issues regarding their health. He encourages patients to come to him with information they’ve found online regarding their body and how it works. That can include often-confusing articles about contraception, urinary incontinence, C-sections, or osteoporosis, for example.

“I am all about filtering information for folks,” says Dr. Quinsey. “Sometimes, information on the internet is partially correct, but with a lot of it not pertaining to their particular clinical situation. We just need to weed through that information and find out what is pertinent to that particular patient.”

After 20 years in practice, Dr. Quinsey is starting to see his work come full circle: children he delivered at the start of his career are coming back to him now as patients.

A practitioner under the Florida Women’s Care Group, Dr. Quinsey has served as chair of the Central Florida Regional Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital.
