Greenbuilt Home Solutions

Floridians are envied for the warm weather and beautiful sunshine that graces us much of the year. Why not bring a little of that sunshine efficiently into your home by “Going GREEN with Eric Dean”? Eric Dean Huss, owner-contractor of Greenbuilt Home Solutions, Inc., based in Lake Mary, can provide added value, comfort, and beauty to your home with green, energy-saving remodeling solutions that are surprisingly cost-effective and affordable.

Eric, a self-described Iowa farm boy, moved here in 1982 to pursue a career as a veterinary technician, a job that led to a veterinary wholesale business that lasted almost 15 years. After selling the business, an offer to join a small home-improvement company presented itself. Eric took the challenge, first as a sales rep, learning the business, until he was made general manager. Within seven-and-a-half years, Eric helped grow the company into a multi-million dollar business. When the housing recession of 2008 forced that company to close, Eric saw an opportunity to venture out on his own.

“With seven-and-a-half years of home-improvement experience, I decided to continue on,” says an energetic Eric. Running Greenbuilt Home Solutions out of his Lake Mary home office with the help of marketing director and longtime girlfriend Denise McDonald, Eric is able to keep overhead low, and with no sales commissions to pay, the savings get passed on to Eric’s customers.

“The big boys with big bills have to charge more,” Eric explains. And, unlike the “big boys,” Eric personally goes to every appointment and oversees every project.

With Greenbuilt Home Solutions, there are no high-pressure salespeople, a feature Eric says customers like.

“I love helping people achieve their goals,” Eric says, and sometimes that means working with homeowners to set the right expectations. “I’m upfront with people. Where other contractors may take on any project, I educate customers on why it may not be advisable, or I offer another option.” Doing so avoids nightmarish issues that can lead to problems later on like water intrusion, Eric explains.

Customers appreciate Eric’s openness and candor. They also appreciate the three highly skilled and specialized crews that do all of Greenbuilt’s installs. Each crew, whether specializing in replacement windows, sunrooms, or screen room/pool enclosures, has a minimum of 20 years experience, ensuring quality projects that bring years of enjoyment and added value to the homeowner.

“After 15 years in the business, it’s important to get it right the first time,” says Eric.
