Respect begets respect. That’s the cultural foundation at Home1st Lending, where an atmosphere of esteem is extremely important.

“It all starts with the culture of the office and continues forward to provide excellent customer service for our clients,” explains CEO Theresa Lentini.

Core values at Home1st Lending encourage employees to exhibit exceptional communication and ownership, celebrate each other, provide solutions, stand together as one, and improve every day. Theresa stresses the importance of employees being valued in their place of work.

“You have to start from home before you go out to serve others,” she explains. “When we focus on core values, we start to develop a culture where nobody’s blaming anyone for mistakes, everybody’s owning up to what they may have done wrong, and everyone is doing their part.”

This leads to camaraderie and cooperation in the office.

“The team leaders are encouraging each other to do better, and they’re high-fiving each other when they’re doing a good job,” says Theresa. “Employees are happier, and people are collaborating and communicating better. We keep our competition out there in the market, not within the office.”

It’s then the job of the valued employees to pay it forward.

“We make sure that we provide the same type of value that we foster in this office to our clients, because when employees are happy, they’re going to duplicate that with the clients,” Theresa says. “If we are happy in the office, how can that not resonate with our clients when we treat them the same way?”

With seven offices in Florida alone, Home1st Lending has seen great success. Part of that success, says Theresa, is because what the company provides to its team internally shines externally.

A commitment to clients and exceptional communication is why Home1st Lending holds the #1 spot in Zillow reviews in Orlando and is ranked third nationwide in the wholesale lending industry.

“We care about our clients – their home is their livelihood, and we treat it as such,” says Theresa.

Amid all its tremendous growth, Home1st Lending is proud to reside where it all started, right here in Lake Mary.
“I have no idea how far we’re going to go with this,” says Theresa, “but Lake Mary will always be our home.”
