For the majority of her 37 years as a Realtor, Kim Coburn with RE/MAX Town & Country Realty has operated as a solo practitioner with the help of her husband and business partner, David, and longtime assistant, Carey Ditges.

But starting in 2020, Kim Coburn has welcomed former client and successful businesswoman Colleen Kahl, ABR, ASP, to work on her team as a sales agent.

“Real-estate agents have many choices about how they run their business,” Kim explains. “Some agents do everything on their own, others have assistants, some have small teams, and some have large teams with several agents. The industry has become more complex and even more competitive, so I decided to add another sales agent to work with me.”

A former hair-salon owner in Southbridge, Massachusetts, Colleen met Kim when she and husband Michael sought out a Realtor to buy a home when they arrived in our community six years ago.

“After I sold my company, I dabbled in hair care locally, but realized I had lost that passion,” says Colleen, who now is a full-time Realtor. “Kim mentored me in 2019 and then asked me to be part of her team this year.”

Colleen says she is constantly learning different aspects of the industry from Kim.

“Kim is an amazing, brilliant woman who handles everything with grace and dignity,” says Colleen. “She is an inspiration! I used to help people look their best. Now I get to help people on a much larger scale.”

“I have been astonished by Colleen’s enthusiasm, capacity for learning, quick thinking, and excellent work ethic,” says Kim. “She is very motivated and engaged, and her personality is well-suited for this very stressful career. In addition, she has already earned her Accredited Staging Professionals designation as well as her Accredited Buyer Representative designation.”

Those designations make Colleen an even more valuable asset to RE/MAX Town & Country Realty.

Kim’s specialty is the Oviedo-Winter Springs area, and she and her family have lived inTuscawilla for more than two decades. She has been listed as the #1 real-estate agent in the area for many years.

“Adding Colleen will allow me the opportunity to better serve my clients and do more community service,” Kim says. “I am excited about this moving forward.”

Kim is no stranger to community service. She already serves on multiple boards and committees, and her philanthropy is well-known throughout the community.

Kim is a founding member of the City of Winter Springs Special Events Committee that was formed to help the city fund events such as Celebration of Freedom, Winter Springs Got Talent, Winter Wonderland, Hometown Harvest, and others. Today, Kim and her colleagues at RE/MAX Town & Country are proud sponsors of those events and more.

Five years ago, Kim created and continues to hold an annual scholarship essay contest offering $1,000 to a high-school senior residing in the Oviedo-Winter Springs area. Kim is also a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) providing scholarships for women.

Every Thanksgiving, Kim provides three free meals to needy families that are recommended to her by the public, and she loves to volunteer for HOPE Helps, Inc. events and is a monthly financial contributor.

She also donates generously, from every one of her sales, to the Children’s Miracle Network in the name of her clients.

A member of the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce, Kim also sits on the Tuscawilla HOA Board. She and her husband raised two children in Tuscawilla – a daughter, who is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, and a son, who teaches English as a second language. Kim’s husband David is a State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed Real Estate Agent. Kim and David enjoy socializing and playing golf at the Tuscawilla Country Club and playing with their dog, Pepper, an energetic Australian Shepherd.

Kim considers her peers at RE/MAX Town & Country to be her second family.

“This is an awesome place to work,” Kim beams, “and I am truly blessed to look forward to each day at this office.”
