With more than 20 years of experience as a Licensed Skin Care Specialist, Lorrie Sabatino of The Mitchell Wade Salon in Oviedo has never seen anything like the COVID-19 crisis.

“When it comes to facial treatments and waxing, the interaction is up-close and personal. Sterilization and cleanliness are a necessity, especially now,” Lorrie says. “We have taken several steps to ensure safety at the salon, including a staggered schedule for extra sanitation time between appointments. And we are limiting the points of access into the salon, as well as how many clients can be inside.”

The response from Lorrie’s clients has been positive.

“They’ve been great with the new protocols, including temperature checks and mask requirements,” Lorrie says. “They really seem to appreciate the extra precautions taken for their safety.”

Clients also appreciate what Lorrie can continue to do for their skin – and the invaluable advice she gives for at-home care in these unusual times.

“Mask wearing can be tough on your skin,” she says, “so try using products with sulfur, alpha-hydroxy, or beta-hydroxy acids to avoid breakouts. Also make sure to apply moisturizer with broad-spectrum SPF every morning, especially with the extra time spent outside.”

As always, Lorrie provides complimentary consultations for skincare treatments, as well as product recommendations. The Mitchell Wade Salon carries products from Image Skincare, which are highly recommended by estheticians and formulated by physicians.
