Cheers!

There’s a new neighborhood hot spot in town, one that delivers a friendly respite for craft-beer enthusiasts and families alike.

With 13 proprietary beers on tap – try the Red Bug Red – and a kitchen that turns out gourmet pizza, wings, burgers, and other tavern fare, the spacious 8,800-square-foot Oviedo Brewing Company has struck a tasty nerve with area residents.
Oviedo Brewing Company, the sole brewery in the city of Oviedo, opened its doors six months ago at the Oviedo Mall.

Patrons rave about the creative layout, laid-back atmosphere, and selection of fine beers.

“I love the aspects of making beer, and I wanted to bring that into a business,” says owner Vishal Chunilal. “It has been a great journey so far.”

Vishal owes that passion to his father, who owned a liquor store when Vishal was young. Vishal became fascinated with how beer was produced and, later in life, he took up home brewing. In full-circle fashion, today Vishal proudly runs his own brew house, employing 20 people including brewmaster Nolan Clark, assistant brewmaster Ryan Thomas, and chef Xavier Cruz.
Little touches throughout the brewery add to the welcoming ambiance. Phone charging ports are ever present, water barrels offer sanitary sealed cups, and the butcher block custom bar and steam valve-adorned lighting pull it all together. Man’s best friend is welcome, as well, on the outdoor patio.

The brewery is ideal for business functions, birthday parties, or just meeting up with some friends. For the younger set, there are board games, a TV area, and even craft soda taps from which kids can pour carbonated beverages by themselves.
“It’s all about the guest experience,” says Vishal. “We are packed for Trivia Night on Wednesdays, and live music attracts crowds every Friday and Saturday.”

The bones of the building make the brewery even more special. Decades ago, the space was once home to Oldenburg Brewery, a pioneer of the craft-beer industry. While Vishal has an open mind about one day canning and distributing his beer beyond the tasting room, he is content with playing host to those seeking a fun outing and a cold, craft beer.
A California native who moved to Florida 12 years ago, Vishal lives in Oviedo with his wife and two young children who all spend quality time at the brewery.

“It’s really all about family,” Vishal believes. “And great food and great beer!”
