“Creating a foundation for success,” is not only the motto of StarChild Academy Lake Mary, it’s the mission. And that foundation is based in a rigorous academic curriculum that starts at infancy and continues through elementary school.

“StarChild Academy stands above and beyond typical preschools and childcare centers because we are focused on academics for children as young as six weeks old,” says Stuart Friedman, owner of StarChild Academy Lake Mary. “Our goal is to provide the highest quality curriculum and programs for families who want the very best in education, personal development, and safety for their children. As a result, our students are learning more than a year ahead of the typical academic schedule.”

In fact, when StarChild Academy kids graduate the school’s elementary program, they often test much higher – some at middle-school levels, some at high-school levels, and some even at college levels!

“Our educational philosophy is based on traditional values and proven curricula that recognize the importance of each child’s interests and talents,” Stuart says. “Coupled with our enrichment courses – including four languages, music, physical education, and technology – we provide our students a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop the character and skills necessary to excel in school and life.”

In addition to its award-winning academic programs, StarChild Academy offers families unmatched convenience including before- and after-care, flexible schedules, healthy snacks, and nutritious hot meals, all included in each student’s weekly tuition.

“When other schools are closed, our doors are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 52 weeks each year, and those hours are included in our standard tuition,” Stuart explains. “That level of convenience is second to none. It allows our families to maintain their work/school/life schedules with the peace of mind that their children are well cared for, active, and safe throughout the day. Two snacks and lunch are also included daily with special attention paid to those with food allergies.”

StarChild Academy is also a leader at incorporating play into its daily curriculum. With six playgrounds on the Lake Mary campus, students have access to modern equipment designed to encourage safe, age-appropriate activity.

“Getting outside to play gives our students a physical and mental break from the structure and academic rigor of the day and aids in their overall development,” Stuart says. “Our playgrounds also serve as host to many of our extra-curricular programs including Playball and Orlando City Soccer. After-school students and summer camp participants also utilize our expansive outdoor areas, which feature splash pads for extra fun on hot days.”

The Academy’s robust summer day-camp program runs from June 3 through August 9 for children age 5 to 12. Weekly tuition includes daily field trips and countless crafts and activities. Additional enrichment programs are also available for first- through fifth-grade students who prefer to spend the day learning a specific skill such as cooking or computer game design.

“We have been a part of the StarChild Academy family since 2016,” says parent Ryan Ferro. “We trust our two children in their hands 1,000 percent! The facility is clean, the kids are fed great food prepared daily, the staff has literally become our family, and we love the teachers with all our hearts. Our children have learned to read, write, speak multiple languages, know math facts, and have such an advantage before even entering kindergarten.

“We highly recommend StarChild Academy in Lake Mary to any family that wants the best care for their child and to accelerate their learning in this competitive world.”
