Sunshine Pharmacy

Sometimes our high-tech, digital world can be a little impersonal, and that’s not a good thing when it comes to your prescription medications. Unlike traditional pharmacies at chain discount stores, drugstores, or supermarkets, Sunshine Pharmacy – which opened in Sanford’s Dunwoody Plaza on State Road 46 in February – provides a personal touch and ensures that your prescriptions will be filled accurately and promptly at a lower cost than most of their competitors.

Co-owners Channi and Paul Sodhi, who have been married for 26 years and live in Heathrow with their four children, are looking forward to being your neighborhood pharmacy and getting to know all of their customers on a personal level.

“We’re getting a very positive response from the local community,” says Paul, who has worked in the Central Florida area since 1990. During that time, he worked extensively in retail pharmacies, hospitals, and long-term care nursing homes as a consultant pharmacist and pharmacy manager.

“I think when people go to a chain, they feel like just a number,” Paul continues. “As an independent pharmacy, we get to know our customers on a personal basis. Our patients can call our pharmacy, and we’ll have time to communicate and talk to them, and we can fill their prescriptions quickly and accurately.”

In addition to its personalized services, Sunshine Pharmacy also offers free delivery in the Lake Mary/Heathrow/Sanford/Longwood area, as well as specialty compounding and one-on-one consulting. Compounding is ideal for medications involving infertility, hormone replacement therapy, dermatology, pediatrics, veterinary, endocrine disorders, chronic pain management, hospice care, dentistry, proctology, sports medicine, urology, and wound care.

“When you walk into our pharmacy, you will be greeted by name,” says Channi, Sunshine Pharmacy’s office manager and director of client services. “It’s important for your pharmacist to know you, because if you’re taking multiple prescriptions, he can advise you about mixing medications and the best times to take them.”

Sunshine Pharmacy’s compounding specialists can prepare personalized medications – such as hormone replacement therapy – for both you and your pets. With veterinary compounding, pharmacists can make your cat’s medicine taste like fish and your dog’s medicine taste like chicken or bacon!

Caring for the people in the community comes naturally to both Channi and Paul, who faithfully practice the Indian religion of Sikhism. Among the values of their faith are hard work, treating everyone equally, and helping others.

“We love our faith,” Paul says, “and we love serving the people in our community.”
