The Bar Method – Lake Mary

There’s a new workout in town that merges the best elements of dance, strength training, and stretching techniques to produce powerful and poised physiques. It’s found at The Bar Method – Lake Mary.


Designed to provide a safe, challenging and graceful workout, The Bar Method primarily utilizes body weight for resistance while students engage in exercises that are timed to music and cued by certified instructors.


Combining her passion for dance and love of helping people, owner Rachel Woodward, a professional dancer turned school counselor, discovered The Bar Method as a student in 2013 and never looked back.  


“I knew The Bar Method was the perfect opportunity to put my passions into practice in a way that will truly benefit the lives of my clients,” Rachel says. “Our classes are not intimidating and are well suited for bodies of all ages, shapes, and sizes. We are a community that promotes acceptance and kindness.”


Unlike other fitness programs, The Bar Method is grounded in the principles of physical therapy and emphasizes safety.


“Our curriculum is developed by licensed physical therapists, and our instructors undergo a lengthy and rigorous training,” says Rachel. “That includes lessons of anatomy and hands-on adjustments so we can best assist our students as they move through their workout. This extreme attention to detail allows us to understand the nuances of the body, which ultimately benefits our students as they gain strength and long, lean sculpted muscles.”


“I suffer from chronic lower back pain, but since I have started going to The Bar Method three to four times a week, I feel like a new person,” says student Aida Mosher. “The instructors are always making sure I am doing the exercises correctly and modifying when I am not able to do them. I have never been to a studio where clients are taken care of at this level. They go above and beyond.”


The Bar Method – Lake Mary’s clients enjoy a variety of classes that range from 45 to 60 minutes, including the new Bar Restore class, which launched this month.


“During Bar Restore, we incorporate the traditional Bar Method movements with new stretching techniques to deliver a true body rejuvenation experience,” Rachel says. “Join us for a free trial class. We believe you will love the results: a graceful, strong, dancer-like body featuring sculpted arms, flat abs, a lifted seat, and elongated thighs, as well as improved posture and body alignment.”
