The Flooring Center

A family business founded in 1985, The Flooring Center has opened a new, convenient showroom right in our backyard on International Boulevard directly across from Heathrow.

A one-stop shop for quality tile, wood, and luxury vinyl floors as well as carpet and area rugs, the new location is the latest milestone for a well-respected local business with a history of integrity and service.

“The value in doing business with The Flooring Center,” says Eric Rusnak, vice president, “is our 35 years of experience.”

Eric’s father and uncle started the business. His brother and cousin work there, too, and many of the company’s staff have been with The Flooring Center from the beginning. The tight-knit team has completed more than 60,000 flooring installations between the Maitland, Orlando, New Smyrna Beach, and Dr. Phillips stores, with many more to come from the Lake Mary location.

With its inventory warehouse in nearby Maitland and 20 expert installation crews at the ready, Vicki Palcowski, the Lake Mary showroom manager, says The Flooring Center has it                     covered – literally.

Beauty, Durability
When choosing new flooring, the options can be overwhelming. But at The Flooring Center, Eric says the staff knows how to zero in on what matters most. They will ask about each customer’s lifestyle and their budget. Is the property their primary residence, or will they rent it out? What about aesthetics? The queries help guide each client to the flooring decision that’s right for them. And if the customer already has a definitive solution in mind, The Flooring Center helps ensure that their goals will be met in terms of look and function.

Through it all, quality is a cornerstone of the entire operation.

With reputable brands like Karastan, Mohawk, Fabrica, Shaw Floors, DuChateau, and Stanton, The Flooring Center also strives to make its customers’ new-flooring experience as convenient as possible.

“We can send samples, or customers can view options on our website,” says Eric. “But our showrooms are really where they can feel the products’ quality and texture, and see the finer details.”

In-home, no-pressure estimate consultations with design assistance are quick and easy. Materials like hardwood can be a larger investment up front, Eric says, but can pay off later in terms of durability and maintenance. After the measurements are done and an installation date set, The Flooring Center crews treat your home as if it is their own, leaving no mess behind – just gorgeous new flooring underfoot.

Custom-Builder Approved
In addition to residential work, The Flooring Center is the go-to flooring expert for many specialty custom-home builders in the area. Eric, Vicki, and the team enjoy exceeding expectations in creative, themed custom-build projects.

Eric tells of one builder tasked with creating a home theater with a drive-in movie feel. The Flooring Center stepped up with a longer shag AstroTurf-type material, designed to resemble grass. The builder put a pickup truck on top of it, directly in front of the big screen in the room. Movie viewers could then sit in the back of the truck and watch their favorite flicks.

Another home in the Orlando area was built with an octagonal room resembling a haunted house, complete with portraits that changed before viewers’ eyes and wood flooring that had to stand up to motion... that’s because the room was made to actually shake.

In addition to homeowners and custom builders, interior designers and home stagers also rely on The Flooring Center’s inventory, design advice, and exceptional service. The company stands behind the products it sells and installs in your home. Its team works to make the process easy, from start to finish, with great results.

“We look forward to seeing you soon,” says Vicki, “right here in Heathrow!”
