Total Sprinkler & Lighting is the result of a perfect entrepreneurial – and personal – union, and the company is making clients happy with its customer-centric and creative approach.

When we last spoke with Ron Zadwarny and Jessica Davis, they had recently made the entrepreneurial plunge and founded Total Sprinkler & Lighting, an environmentally conscious business structured to focus on the work they love most – landscape lighting and irrigation systems. A year later, they are still co-owners of their growing endeavor, but they are now also husband and wife.

“We worked together for 10 years and shared a similar vision and passion,” says Jessica, director of administration. “We fell in love somewhere along the way and got married this past March, so it’s been a rewarding journey.”

Ron, director of field operations, has more than 20 years of experience in the landscaping and irrigation industry. Jessica has a background in administration and is a natural at both marketing and customer relations. Together, with their love of the outdoors and the environment, they created a company focused on outstanding service and environmental responsibility.

“Mostly, we love the process of creating and installing landscape lighting,” says Ron. “When we meet with clients, we walk the property, talk about what they want to highlight, and create proposals so they can visualize it. Then, we’ll come out at night and set up a number of lights so clients can see how it looks. The demo is a value-added service we really enjoy providing.”
Jessica loves the symbiotic relationship between irrigation and lighting.

“They’re both upgrades to your outdoor living space,” she says. “Having proper irrigation is going to keep your plants looking nice, and the lighting is going to highlight them. Together, they create something beautiful.”

Total Sprinkler & Lighting, which partners with the nonprofit organization 1% for the Planet, gives that percentage of its annual revenue to organizations committed to water quality, wildlife rehabilitation, and conservation. When installing irrigation systems, Ron uses water-wise controllers, low-flow nozzles, and drip lines, which all help conserve water. For lighting, only LED systems are used, which saves energy and enhances curb appeal.

The future is looking bright for Total Sprinkler & Lighting, and this husband-and-wife team intends to keep their customers at the center of everything they do.

“Our customers will never become numbers,” says Ron. “We’ll always hold true to that.”
