Special summer events at the Seminole County Public Library

Summer programs officially kicked off at the Seminole County Public Library last month. Our summer theme is “A Universe of Stories.” If you haven’t signed the whole family up for summer reading yet, it’s not too late! Youth ages 18 and under can pick out a brand-new, free book to keep just for registering, and there is no pressure or commitment. The more you read and visit the library, the more raffle tickets you can earn for weekly giveaways and end-of-summer grand prize drawings. There are separate weekly and grand-prize raffles for ages 0-4, ages 5-12, teens, and adults. Teens and adults can win Starbucks cards all summer long, with a Teen Grand Prize Drawing in August for a $100 Amazon card, and Adult Grand Prize Drawings for $50 Amazon cards and Kindle Fire tablets.

In addition to our weekly Growing Readers story programs for little ones and our science, chess, and Lego programs for school-age kids, check out these other special events happening at the library.

Meet a snake, a turtle, and a baby alligator up-close. Learn a little more about these fascinating reptiles as you come face-to-face with them. Programs are offered in partnership with Seminole County Greenways and Natural Lands.
