HOPE HELPS CHRISTMAS IN THE CITY OUTREACH

Sponsorship opportunities and hundreds of volunteer spots will open the first week of November for this annual day of giving for the needy in our community. It is organized by HOPE Helps of Oviedo in partnership with its Interfaith Coalition, local businesses, partner agencies, and community donors. Families in need (who register for the event) will receive toys, gift cards, new socks and underwear, stocking stuffers, a holiday meal to make at home, and other holiday goodies. HOLIDAY PARADE 

Saturday, December 2, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The parade begins at the Oviedo Aquatic Center and runs through Center Lake Park. Come early and get your food from one of the food trucks parked on City Walk Lane, then find your spot along the parade route. Vendors will be open for purchases at 5:00 p.m. at Center Lake Park. Dozens of floats will be decorated and lit up for the holidays. Look for Santa on a shiny red fire truck.


WINTERFEST

Saturday, December 9, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Inflatable activities for children, photos with Santa, wreath decorating, and jolly holiday train rides. With the purchase of an all inclusive wristband, you will have unlimited access to all the different activities, rides, and attractions. BATTLE OF THE BANDS 5K

5K begins at 7:30 a.m. Kids’ Run begins at 8:45 a.m. and the awards ceremony is at 9:00 a.m.

The 5K will feature high energy, live music for runners and walkers along a 3.1-mile flat route that starts and finishes at Casselberry’s Lake Concord Park, next to City Hall. All participants will receive a rockin' commemorative T-shirt and will have the opportunity to enjoy the post-race “Craft Beer Fest” where runners 21 and older can sample beer. Runners will also have the chance to vote in the “Battle of the Bands” competition for the best band along the race route. Event proceeds benefit cultural arts organizations in Casselberry. 

FUNTOBER FESTIVAL

Presented by Collins Dental. The Rising's course is an out and back route that runs along the Cross Seminole Trail and past many important Oviedo landmarks. The club has been a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) for over 48 years, and was started by the earliest residents of the Sweetwater Oaks community! The plant sale is a bi-annual fundraising event enabling our contributions to scholarships for students pursuing horticulture degrees at University of Florida, campers attending Wekiva Youth Camp, and donations to Florida-based environmental conservation organizations.
