Raider C.A.R.E. Village Opens at Seminole State

Seminole State College has long offered a number of services to support students facing financial crisis – a food pantry, a closet of professional clothes for job interviews or other needs, and more. Now, thanks to a transformative investment by Heart of Florida United Way, those resources are now all under one convenient roof along with wraparound support services to address any number of roadblocks that might interfere with a student’s educational goals.

It’s called the Raider C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance for Resources and Education) Village, a one-stop shop where students can get clothes, food, financial assistance for bills that have fallen behind, and one-on-one support to get them back on good financial footing. It’s all part of a $1 million investment by Heart of Florida United Way to strengthen student success and economic mobility in Seminole County.
