The Magnificent Seven
by Kevin Fritz
Seven local athletes and sports contributors were recently inducted into the Seminole County Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of the lasting impact they have made on the county’s sports scene.
Established in 1982, the Hall of Fame is overseen by the Seminole County Parks and Recreation Department and the Seminole County Sports Hall of Fame Committee. Award categories are athlete (male and female), contributor (male and female), legacy (an athlete or contributor active before 1999), and inclusion (an athlete or contributor with special needs).
The class of 2025 comprises a high-school basketball and volleyball standout, a college golf coach, a professional soccer player, a sportscaster turned tennis coach, a public sports announcer, a youth soccer and baseball coach, and a travel baseball guru.
