Central Florida Foot & Ankle Institute

Getting back to the basics of how healthcare used to be is the goal of Central Florida Foot & Ankle Institute.
“We are trying to get back to old-school medicine,” says Jaclyn “Carli” Hoover, DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine). “Patients to us are not just a number. We are hitting the refresh button on healthcare.”
Co-founded by Jaclyn, the private practice podiatry group opened in 2024 and has a growing client base. Today, Central Florida Foot & Ankle Institute has two offices in Lake Mary, serving patients of all ages.
Jaclyn’s father Robert Hoover joined the team to help his daughter get established. Robert, DPM, FACFAS (Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons), has more than 30 years of experience in the field of podiatry.
“We have always wanted to practice together,” says Jaclyn, an Altamonte Springs resident who grew up in Longwood. “My father’s favorite pun is that I followed in his footsteps.”
Father and daughter can be found serving patients at the Institute’s Lake Mary clinic on Waymont Court near the intersection of Rinehart Road and Lake Mary Boulevard.
The Institute’s other Lake Mary clinic is at the Medplex Plaza on Lake Mary Boulevard and Sun Drive. Serving that office are doctors Sean Griffin, DPM, and Christopher Mason, DPM, FACFAS. Christopher is a 25-year veteran of treating ankles and feet in Lake Mary.
The practice handles a variety of foot and ankle conditions, ranging from basic to more complex cases. Sprains, fractures, and flat feet are just a few of the conditions the doctors treat.
Jaclyn says many of the practice’s day-to-day services include nail care for the elderly, injections for ailments such as plantar fasciitis, and custom or over-the-counter shoe inserts. The team always practices a patient-centric approach, whatever the issue with the feet or ankles.
“Each patient receives a personal treatment plan,” says Jaclyn. “We want to bring quality healthcare back to the community.”
Central Florida Foot & Ankle Institute accepts most major insurance policies, including Medicare and Medicaid, and the vast majority of the services it offers are covered.
