Atlas Rehabilitation

Atlas Rehabilitation in Oviedo is celebrating a milestone this year – a decade serving physical therapy patients in Central Florida. During that time, the company has grown exponentially, both in staff size and the variety of services it offers.

Providing convenient, in-home physical therapy to patients in six counties, Atlas Rehabilitation is owned by husband-and-wife Jimmy and Aimee Adisano.

The company’s highly trained clinicians provide a wide range of services for individuals before and after surgery, for patients with spine-related conditions, and for those with orthopedic and sports injuries.

The Adisanos and their 15 team members (they started with a staff of three) also offer walker and cane sizing, fall prevention tips, and custom wheelchair evaluations.

“We teach patients safe mobility,” says Jimmy. “We do a home assessment to make sure there aren’t any tripping hazards, and we do balance training exercises. We also provide home exercises so patients can maintain their strength.”

Atlas Rehabilitation recently began partnering with three area hospice companies. When a patient begins home hospice care, a team from Atlas Rehab will teach family members how to best care for their loved ones at the end stage of their lives. This can include how to operate a hospital bed and how to move the patient from the bed to a wheelchair or the bathroom.

“We want to help improve the quality of their lives,” says Jimmy, a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer.

He and Aimee, the company’s office manager and a certified nursing assistant, live in Winter Springs with their two daughters.

Vera Ahmad, ARNP (advanced registered nurse practitioner), often works with the team at Atlas Rehabilitation.

“Atlas Rehab excels as a trusted partner in the health and well-being of our community,” says Vera. “They are dedicated to restoring clients to maximum capacity to promote their health and well-being and bringing compassionate and individualized care along with expert physical therapy services to the home. Atlas Rehab not only helps people physically recover but does so with heart to help build a stronger, healthier, and happier community.”
