For Dr. Andreina Alarcón, DDS, that personal connection is at the heart of her practice. Originally from Venezuela, she came to Central Florida at the age of eight and has since built strong ties to the community. Dr. Alarcón attended the University of Central Florida and went on to earn her dental degree in Colorado before returning to this area 10 years ago to practice dentistry.

“I always had the inclination to be a dentist,” she says. “When I was a little kid, instead of playing teacher, I played dentist.”

Dr. Alarcón’s own childhood experiences shaped the way she treats patients. Access to dental care was sometimes difficult for Dr. Alarcón’s family when she was a young girl, giving her firsthand insight into the financial and emotional barriers that can keep people from visiting the dentist.

“We’re going to take baby steps together to get there,” she says.

Dr. Alarcón takes pride in building lasting, one-on-one relationships, like what she has developed with Barbara.
