The Antique Foundry
by Beverly Sorrells
A pair of statues greets you at The Antique Foundry in Altamonte Springs, a vintage and antiques showroom with more than 10,000 square feet of quiet luxury. Chandeliers soften the light, music hums gently in the background, and there’s no obvious route to follow. Instead, the idea is to wander, discovering treasures along the way.
Everything is thoughtfully arranged by a team of 11 women – designers and curators who create themed, room-like displays within the overall space. Each room presents a blend of hand-selected antiques and vintage finds, offering a steady flow of one-of-a-kind pieces for visitors to discover.
“People say, ‘This is my happy place,’” says owner Dawn Michele Evans. “We have people who come two or three times a week and just soak it in. Some things are very rare, very old. It’s like a history lesson.”
Much of the furniture is sourced directly from Europe and brought over by container, resulting in a mix of Dutch, English, French, German, and Swedish antiques alongside American finds.
The Antique Foundry also carries prayer and praise items, original work by Florida artists, and gifts for that special someone. It’s a peaceful place where wandering is encouraged, and the past feels ever present.
