Central Florida Bone & Joint Institute

by Georgia Rivas

When pain, injury, or limited mobility disrupt everyday life, patients turn to Central Florida Bone & Joint Institute for expert orthopedic care delivered with a personal touch.

With offices in Lake Mary and Orange City, the practice offers comprehensive treatment for conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, foot, ankle, and spine, as well as sports medicine, regenerative medicine, orthopedic urgent care, and advanced surgical solutions.

One of the newest additions to the team is Dr. Morad Chughtai, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery. Originally from Virginia, Dr. Chughtai attended medical school in the Caribbean, completed extensive medical research, trained in orthopedic surgery at Cleveland Clinic, and went on to complete a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Florida.

Beyond his impressive credentials, Dr. Chughtai brings a global perspective to patient care through medical mission work in Africa and across the United States. Fluent in Arabic, native in Urdu, and well-versed in Spanish, he believes cultural awareness helps him better understand and serve his patients.

“The more you’re culturally aware of people’s habits,” he says, “the better you can treat them in their world if you can adopt their perspective.”

Known for his calm and approachable style, Dr. Chughtai sees himself as an educator and guide, helping patients understand their options and make informed decisions about their care.

“I absolutely love what I do in orthopedic surgery,” he says. “Hand surgery is unique because of all the different elements involved including bone surgery, soft tissue reconstruction, vascular repair, and nerve repair. It can be very challenging, but more importantly, it’s very rewarding to see patients get their functionality back.”

Dr. Chughtai treats everything from carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger to complex traumatic injuries, congenital hand conditions, nerve repairs, and microvascular reconstruction. His expertise further strengthens the comprehensive services available at Central Florida Bone & Joint Institute, where a team of specialists provides advanced orthopedic care close to home.

Through innovative treatments and a patient-first approach, Dr. Chughtai and the rest of the team are helping patients regain function, restore independence, and get back to doing what they love.
