Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center
by Laura Breen Galante
Twenty-five years ago, Gustav Lo, MD, and Courtney Lo, PA, co-founded Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center (CSLC) as a destination for people who wanted to age well and be proactive about their health. The couple’s practice now has locations throughout Michigan and Florida, including a clinic in Lake Mary.
When Courtney and Gustav founded their practice, aesthetic medicine was just beginning to emerge. New treatments were appearing quickly, but it was difficult to know where to go, what actually worked, and who to trust. Plastic surgeons focused on surgery. A small number of dermatologists offered lasers. No one specialized in guiding patients through the full spectrum of aesthetic care. Patients were left to piece things together on their own.
Fast-forward to today, and care has expanded, but it’s still fragmented. On the surface, everything looks different. There are thousands of med spas. New devices, injectables, and regenerative treatments appear constantly. And yet, for many patients, the core problem hasn’t changed.
Many practitioners work in silos, offering a limited set of treatments rather than guiding patients through a thoughtful, integrated aesthetic plan. Patients struggle to understand what they actually need, when they need it, and how different treatments work together over time. What they’re really looking for is guidance. That’s where CSLC can help.
Staying Ahead of the Curve
“Aesthetics and aging well aren’t simple problem-solution equations,” says Courtney, CEO of Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center. “Most patients don’t walk in knowing exactly what’s changed; they just know they look more tired, feel less vibrant, or don’t quite recognize themselves the way they used to. And they want to stay ahead.”
Unlike a med spa, CSLC does not rely on a single fix or quick, transactional solutions.
“We take a different approach,” says Courtney. “Our practitioners are trained across the full spectrum of aesthetics and longevity care, and that training happens in-house, under physician leadership with our team. This is their specialty – not a single treatment or technique – but understanding how the face, skin, structure, and physiology change together over time.”
Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center doesn’t employ injectors or facialists. Rather, CSLC’s team includes longevity and aesthetic providers who specialize in helping patients age well from the inside out.
“Care starts with listening,” says Courtney. “We take the time to understand what’s bothering you, explain what’s happening beneath the surface, and then make a personalized plan – often combining treatments intentionally rather than offering one-off fixes.”
Longevity medicine is emerging just as rapidly as aesthetics once did. It attracts the same type of patient: someone proactive, engaged, and focused on staying strong, healthy, and full of vitality. These patients want prevention and to feel not just normal but optimal for their age.
Patients often struggle to find clinicians who can integrate hormone health, metabolic health, regenerative medicine, and aesthetic care into a real, personalized medical plan. This is why Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center and RegenCen (CSLC’s sister brand) exist. Aesthetics and longevity belong together. They serve the same patient and require the same kind of thinking: integrated, evidence-based, and deeply individualized.
Look Better, Live Better
When care is coordinated with a clinical approach – across skin health, hormone optimization, metabolic balance, and regenerative medicine – patients don’t just look better, they live better.
“Because aging is a disease, the same approach we use to treat other diseases applies,” says Courtney. “So when we say clinical approach, we mean let’s look at aging like the treatable medical condition it is. And that starts with educating the public that these aging symptoms aren’t inevitable. You don’t have to just put up with it.”
Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center’s thoughtful way of working with patients isn’t about chasing trends or merely doing more treatments. It’s about helping people expand the years they live well. With that in mind, CSLC & RegenCen work in tandem to support long-term care.
“Relationships are fundamental to how we practice, because aging is an ongoing process, not a one-time condition,” says Courtney. “We adapt care over time, continually incorporating the most proven and effective approaches available.
CSLC was built on a simple belief: Aging well deserves a structured, long-term medical plan, not simply a menu of treatments.
