Factory Direct Windows & Doors

Over the past two years, Factory Direct Windows & Doors has grown from a warehouse-based operation into a thriving local business preparing to open its first showroom in Oviedo.
For co-owner James Krell, the move represents more than just a new location – it’s a sign that the company’s customer-first philosophy is paying off.
James and co-owner Rocky Metcalf both have deep roots in the Oviedo area. Rocky has held a contractor’s license since 1986, and he and James eventually became business partners after years of serving together through the Kiwanis Club of Orlando. Before opening Factory Direct Windows & Doors, they partnered in home renovations and house flipping.
Their new showroom, located at 19 East Broadway Street, is expected to open this summer. The 2,000-square-foot space will allow customers from Oviedo and throughout Central Florida to browse
premium windows and doors in person, while also providing office space for the company’s team members.
Until now, Factory Direct Windows & Doors has operated primarily out of a warehouse without a storefront.
“This will give people a place where they can actually come in and see the products,” says James.
While Factory Direct Windows & Doors specializes in residential window replacement, the company also installs front doors, patio doors, and sliding glass doors. Much of its business comes from homeowners in Oviedo and surrounding communities with older homes that could benefit from more energy-efficient products.
“In Oviedo, a lot of the homes are more than 30 years old,” says James. “Older homes can be drafty, and new windows can really improve energy efficiency and hurricane protection.”
Florida’s climate and hurricane season have made impact-resistant and energy-efficient windows increasingly popular. James notes that many customers are taking advantage of the state’s My Safe Florida Home program, which provides grants for hurricane-impact window upgrades. Double-pane, Low-E (low emissivity) glass windows are among the company’s most requested products.
Factory Direct Windows & Doors currently employs about 15 people and has built a strong reputation through its expert installations, competitive prices, and attentive customer service. The company’s commitment to honesty and follow-through is what sets it apart.
“If we tell you we’re going to do something, we’re going to do it,” says James. “We do what we say we’re going to do 100 percent of the time.”
