Frida’s Beauty Studio By Maria Nin

by Charlotte Skipper

Maria Nin is a trichologist, which means her hair expertise goes well beyond styling.

She is a specialist trained to focus on the overall health of her clients’ hair and scalp and to address issues such as hair loss or breakage and scalp disorders. Maria curates every service to best suit a customer’s needs by studying their lifestyle, diet, and genetics. Her in-depth approach leaves clients’ hair looking fuller, glossier, and healthier for weeks after leaving the salon.

“A person’s hair has its own way of telling me what it needs,” says Maria, owner of Frida’s Beauty Studio. “Not a lot of people specialize in trichology, but I think it’s important to educate my clients and give them the advice they need for             amazing hair.”

Maria has been helping people feel beautiful for the past 16 years, and as of March 2026, those accomplishments include opening Frida’s in downtown Lake Mary.

While many salons specialize in a limited number of services, Frida’s offers a more well-rounded service menu. Maria and her team of six beauty professionals combine their considerable skills to offer haircuts and color, manicures and pedicures, waxing and laser hair removal, and more.

“It has always been my dream to start a salon where you can have all services in one space,” says Maria. “Typically, you see salons divided into hair, nails, and waxing, and I wanted to have something where everybody can come for any service you want, all in one visit.”

Recently, Maria has noticed an uptick in clients who use weight loss injections and supplements and struggle with unwanted side effects such as hair loss or other significant changes to their hair health. The good news, she says, is that there are ways to help address these concerns. With the right treatments and professional guidance, many of these issues can be improved.

“Hair is so important to so many people,” says Maria. “At the end of the day, we want to make sure you’re leaving the salon healthy and ready to take on the world.”
