Oviedo YMCA

The Oviedo YMCA is an extraordinary place where uplifting its community is a daily mission. Programs are specially designed to support families, strengthen health, inspire members, and encourage those facing life’s toughest challenges.
One of the Y’s most impactful offerings is its LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, a 12-week cancer survivorship initiative designed to help participants regain strength, confidence, and a sense of normalcy after diagnosis and treatment. Offered twice a year in small, supportive groups, the program is led by certified instructors who understand the unique physical and emotional journey survivors face.
LIVESTRONG participants – whether newly in remission or still undergoing treatment – find encouragement, camaraderie, and a safe space to heal together. This empowering program is free and includes a six-month YMCA membership for both the survivor and their caregiver, helping them build lasting healthy habits. It’s a powerful reminder that support and hope exist right in our own backyard.
The Y is also known for its youth-oriented programming, especially its dynamic Summer Day Camp. Now hosted at Foundry Church in Winter Springs, the experience offers endless opportunities for fun and growth. Running from early June through August, the camp serves rising first graders through sixth graders with day care available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each week features a new theme, blending arts and crafts, STEM activities, reading enrichment, and plenty of active play. Field trips and special events such as foam parties keep the excitement high. With member discounts and financial assistance available, the Y works hard to ensure every child has the chance to participate.
Water safety is another cornerstone of the Y’s mission. With a heated, year-round indoor pool, the Swim Curriculum serves ages six months to older seniors. In 2025 alone, more than 2,000 lessons were provided, which included more than 200 infants who learned lifesaving floating skills. Partnerships with organizations such as Sunshine Health make free lessons accessible for qualifying families, reinforcing the Y’s commitment to safety and inclusivity.
From cancer recovery to childhood development to swim safety, the Oviedo YMCA meets families where they are and supports every stage of life with care, compassion, and community.
