Tamara Lake Mary and Sunny’s Ice Cream

What began as a single restaurant in Orlando has grown into a family-run hospitality business that is developing a much larger presence throughout Central Florida. At the heart of that growth is Tamara Lake Mary, an upscale dining spot that has quickly developed a loyal following.

Tamara Lake Mary, which opened in March on International Parkway, features traditional Indian cuisine (including curries, kabobs, and biryani) as well as Chinese and Thai dishes.

Quality and consistency are priorities, says Fadi Sweidan of Elysian Management Group, which works with Mandy and Gagan Singh, whose family owns the restaurant and several other hospitality ventures.

“We have so many returning customers,” says Fadi, “because they know we will always offer the best.”

Soon after Tamara Lake Mary opened, the Singhs opened Sunny’s Ice Cream next door. Sunny’s features small-batch Amish-style ice cream in traditional and specialty flavors. The shop is also involved in community partnerships, including fundraising opportunities for schools and sports teams.

The Tamara story began nearly three years ago when Mandy opened Tamara Modern Indian Cuisine inside the Cambria Hotel on International Drive in Orlando. Customers began asking the Singh family to provide catering for weddings, large events, and other occasions. That demand led to the creation of a dedicated catering operation for events throughout the Sunshine State, from Jacksonville to the Panhandle to Miami.

Since opening this spring, Tamara Lake Mary has already earned more than 1,000 Google reviews and has a 4.8-star rating. Along with a large and varied food menu, the restaurant has a full bar and offers a hookah experience on the outdoor patio.

The Singh family’s next business venture is Tamara Heritage, a Michelin-concept restaurant scheduled to open by the end of this year in downtown Orlando’s 55 West Church Street building. Also in the works is a restaurant in Altamonte Springs that will feature Turkish cuisine, with an opening planned for 2027.

As if that’s not enough, the Singhs also own Tamara Events Production, which stages large events that feature food, entertainment – and starting next year – boxing.

“We do entertainment from A to Z,” says Fadi.
